The 98 Girls, quoted by a rival club President as "the most improved team in the age group", fought hard to get a 1-0 win over Ahwatukee, taking the 3rd place spot.  "However, the girls’ attitude deserved them the gold!” said Coach Ollie.

The 00 Girls, in their first State Cup appearance, beat every opponent in their wake, as they plowed through match after match.  The girls showed their pride and perseverance as they took the finals into two ten minute overtimes with a 0-0 score against San Tan. Unfortunately, luck was with the other team, as they ended up losing in PK’s.

The 99 Girls repeated as State Cup Champs and continued their superior reign in the entire age group with a 3-0 victory over Sereno. The girls went undefeated, winning all 6 games leading to their 2nd Championship.

The 94 Boys gave Sereno a run for their money, but ended up losing 3-1 when the final whistle blew.  With 12 minutes left to play in the 2^nd half,  the Blackhawks missed a PK to draw within one to make it 3-2. In the last 10 minutes, the 94 Blackhawks had Sereno on their back heels while they pushed and pressed to close the gap. This was the 8th year with Scottsdale Soccer for many of the team, and we wish these boys well as they pursue college in the Fall.

The 96 Boys continued their "National Stampede" by clinching their 4th consecutive State Cup Title, which is added to the National League Title and the Far West Regional League 2nd Place finish for a Stellar Year of Soccer. The boys won all 6 of their games leading up to this year’s Championship finish!

Vini originally hails from Brazil and is fluent in english, portuguese and spanish. His coaching experience covers both Brazil and America and he has held various roles with established organizations including ODP where a common thread has always prevailed – he has created a training environment that players enjoy and thrive. Vini has an ability to work with players to develop them and has had numerous State Champions with teams he has coached as well as USYS Region IV Finalists.

Vini will be bringing his wealth of experience and knowledge to the staff as an Academy Trainer and will be working specifically with teams in the Academy Division (U12 and older). He will also be introducing a variety of programs that are new to the Blackhawks that all players will be able to experience.

The 96 Blackhawks Boys clinched a berth to the US Youth Soccer National Championships in South Carolina this July, in the Boys U16 National League Blue Division, after defeating WAZA FC East, the State Semi Finalists out of Michigan (2-1), and Concorde Fire Elite, Georgia State Semi Finalists (3-0).  Their run to the Championship has not been as easy as it appears, however, with 16 goals for and only 5 goals against throughout their 7 game stretch they managed to capture the National League title.  This team has had to withstand incredible adversity from injury to depleted rosters to defeat the "best in the country" from Maryland, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, New Jersey, South Carolina and Ohio.  Their dedication, commitment, and perseverance are the foundation of this group that allowed them a spot on top of the leaderboard, which has not been without a passionate drive from each and everyone of these young men.  

Coach Adam Burke, Director of Coaching - Academy Division, said after the game, "the boys attention to detail, unwillingness to ever give up and their relentless work ethic was the foundation for their success in this league".  The consistent pursuit for excellence has finally received its reward...making Scottsdale Soccer HISTORY!  The 96 Boys are the first Boys team in the Scottsdale Soccer Clubs history to ever reach the USYS National Championship.
