Steve is Board Certified Sports Physical Therapist by the American Physical Therapy Association, an EXOS Performance Specialist, and Level 1 Dry Needling certified through Kinetacore.  Steve will be providing a holistic approach to the training process to help maximize physical qualities important to the soccer athlete.

He earned a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from Towson University and was a member of the men's soccer program from 2001 to 2005.  Upon graduation, the Baltimore Blast of the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) drafted Steve where he played for three seasons from 2005 to 2007.

Steve’s interest in physical preparation for sport stems from his personal experience as an athlete.  Troubled by numerous injuries throughout his career, Steve was motivated to understand the complex relationship between intensive athletic training and injury prevention. Specifically, this sparked the desire to educate future soccer athletes on effective methods to maximize physical performance in a safe manner.

In 2008, Steve became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), after which he worked predominately with youth soccer players in the Baltimore area as a fitness coach.  To explore this, Steve enrolled in the University of Saint Augustine for Health Sciences where he earned a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree (DPT) in 2012.

Following graduation, Steve gained valuable experience working on both ends of the training continuum as an outpatient physical therapist and volunteer strength and conditioning coach for my alma mater at Towson University (2012-14).  The opportunity to evaluate and treat individuals with musculoskeletal dysfunction, while also serving as a volunteer strength and conditioning coach, allowed him to further develop a holistic training philosophy.

In 2014, Steve accepted the role as the Director of Sports Performance for Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida, where he was responsible for the physical preparation for 12 varsity sports, including both men's and women's soccer

In 2016, Steve was offered the opportunity to be the Head Fitness Coach for the Rio Grande Valley Toros of the United Soccer League (USL), an affiliate team of the Houston Dynamo.

Following a successful season with the Toros, Steve then had the opportunity to become the Assistant Performance/Return to Play Coach for the Houston Dynamo of Major League Soccer (MLS).

After two seasons with the Dynamo Steve became the Performance Director for Phoenix Rising Football Club where he currently oversees all aspects of physical preparation.
