Brendan McLane - 95 Boys Black & Connor McLane - 98 Boys Hack - Hey . . . I Know You!

On September 4, 2016, fans attending the Lake Forest College (LFC) versus Concordia University of Wisconsin (CUW) Men’s soccer game got a first hand look at true sibling rivalry in action.  Brendan McLane ('95 Blackhawks) is a senior at LFC in Lake Forest, Illinois.  He was in the starting line-up as captain and holding mid-fielder for LFC.  His brother Connor McLane (’98 Blackhawks), a freshman at CUW in Mequon, Wisconsin, came off the bench to support the defense at right back.  In the stands, the McLane family was wearing custom t-shirts emblazoned with both school's logos.  They received quite a few surprised looks until other fans realized that there were McLane’s on each team.  The game was a close contest that went back and forth.  Each time LFC scored, CUW came back to tie it.  The older brother (Brendan) had the edge assisting on a goal to put LFC up 2-1 midway through the second half.  However, a penalty kick and a controversial steal resulted in 2 goals for CUW to give younger brother (Connor) bragging rights on a CUW win 3-2.  The family was thrilled to see the two boys face off at the college level.  It was the first time they ever matched up against each other.  They were teammates on their high school team at Notre Dame Prep.  The McLane brothers enjoyed getting a chance to see each other on the field and represent their schools.  By the way, there is still a third brother, Nolan (’01 Blackhawks), that is a part of the Blackhawks family.  It appears there is still more to come from this longtime Blackhawks family.
